Got hooked on and then proceeded to watch ALL OF DOCTOR WHO EVER. And what should happen when I meet our new Doctor for Matt Smith's retirement? A guy who I think looks most like the actor to play my version of Sam Vimes.
Played with Lorin Maazel this summer, starting off thinking I'd be playing English horn. Then by (unfortunately for someone else) providence, ended up playing mostly Principal oboe the whole summer. He never chewed me out, which I think means I was... "good enough." hahaha
Will be taking more auditions, as per usual. Please wish me all the luck, because F#%ng (https://www.deviantart.com/ng) ARGLE BARGLE I am DONE with this w

SO HEY THERE.
Thanks y'all for your nice comments and my new watchers! I really do appreciate it, even though I have totally been absent. I AM SO SORRY. I don't even know if I count as a visual artist anymore. I doodle, I still have a painting that's waiting to be revisited... But I really miss getting to *dig* my teeth into something more intense.

Audition Central
Sorry I have been MIA. It has basically been non-stop auditions since early February. First it was those pesky summer fest auditions. Then I was preparing for the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, but they lost my application. So, in a fit of rebellion I submitted an application for the Long Beach Symphony and did that instead. Only to turn around the VERY NEXT DAY to start preparing for my Transcontinental Audition Tour of Extremeness...
I will be going back to ol' Pittsburgh to audition on one of the four days they have for the assistant principal position (that means there are approximately 30 oboists *each day.* If I was on that audition committ
not dead yet
Despite what I would assume would be 'popular belief,' I am not dead yet. I draw, but very little (booo), but I do have a painting in the works. And some doodles are coming. Sawwy fwends, I have been throwing myself into the oboe. Though self-employed, I need to go to some prestigious summer festivals to beef up my resume, and then freakin' win something.
Funny tidbit: I learned from the ever-amusing Brian Williams that the rate of unemployment out of school for Fine Arts majors 12.6%, second highest only to architecture majors. Womp womp.
