Pirate at Elizabeth's Court

Grace O'Malley, the Irish Pirate held court with Queen Elizabeth I when the Queen had her navy patrolling the Irish Seas, taxing merchants, arresting pirates and the like. O'Malley met with her saying that those seas were hers to patrol, and as a fellow woman ruler must understand O'Malley's request. Elizabeth granted O'Malley's request, leaving her control of the ocean surrounding Ireland (or something to that effect). Either way, they became friends, despite Elizabeth's court commenting on the wild and savage look of Grace.

I decided that O'Malley must have had the money to buy clothes suitable to wear to court, but with evidence of her ruggedness. She wears black pearls in her otherwise loose hair, and black pearls, sea glass, and coral decorate her bodice. She is heavily freckled from being outside, and tan(ish), and the browns she afforded would look flat against the candy-colors of the rest of Elizabeth's court.

I tried using the oilpaint brush in the art media layer in corel. Still with the sketch on top.
