Fred's just happy that George is alive. Although, apparently when running a system-check on his humor, he failed miserably. *snort* You know, I've always been a bigger fan of George than Fred--not to say I don't like him! But George always seemed the more introverted and gentle of the two. But Fred is lovable in his out-goingness. And he will be greatly missed... as will George's ear.
For some reason I could be more creative with the robes/muggle clothing they'd be wearing. Sorry.

I love this so much - this scene was probably my favourite in the book (go figure, it's one of the only twin-scenes). You're right on George too, I've always loved his character and it's always surprised me that so many people never picked up on the differences between he and Fred :/ As for Fred's un-Fredding - bah, as if! I shun that most ridiculously emo page. Shuuuuun!
