SO HEY THERE.
Thanks y'all for your nice comments and my new watchers! I really do appreciate it, even though I have totally been absent. I AM SO SORRY. I don't even know if I count as a visual artist anymore. I doodle, I still have a painting that's waiting to be revisited... But I really miss getting to *dig* my teeth into something more intense.
After the audition spree, I went to a summer festival for a monthish, and then wouldn't you know it--more auditions. I went to Sweden again, and then the summer festival shipped a bunch of us out to Muscat, Oman to play La Boheme at the Royal Opera house! It was a dream come true! Since August, I've also been attempting a "Plan B" class at a city college. Intro to Statistics, wheeee. I really, really, really don't want a plan B. EFF A PLAN B. I'm gonna win some jorbs, and have a bunch of students, and have health insurance, and I'll still get to be a musician! Yeah! But, despite my best efforts to fail this Statistics class (gone for approx. a month of class, not doing any homework; like, 10% of the studying I'm accustomed to doing in "collegiate" mode, not getting extended times on tests until the last one before the final) I will pull a solid C even if I fail the final. If I pass, I will get a SOLID B. HA. Take that, learning disability. And take that Plan B. I could totes do you, med school. If I WANTED TO.
Currently I am planning for a few more auditions. Santa Barbara's got a 2nd oboe opening (not a full-time job, but a paying one would look good on the ol' CV), another Norwegian orchestra has an English horn opening, and Finland re-opened one that I couldn't plan for this fall... which sounds suspicious, but hell, I'll take all the auditions they'll let me attend.
Again, I am SO sorry for the lack of Art-ing. :/ I'm such a loser. I love drawing, I love painting, I love doodles,... I'm just a lame-o. Forgive me!
And send luck my way for these auditions...
